IUI #3 results

Third time is not a charm. I am not pregnant.

I feel sad, but not as devastated as last cycle. My sister is getting married next summer and had this cycle worked, my due date would have been her wedding day. As much as I would have been thrilled to be expecting, I am so happy that I will be able to attend her wedding. Now I am praying that I will do so with a giant GIANT belly. Swollen in the summer heat, sweating my bump off as they tie the knot.... I want to meet every "pregnant woman at the wedding" cliché. Anyone need a designated driver? I'm your ride! *winks*

Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to my laparoscopy as a giant step forward toward our baby.

Looking for silver linings on this cloud and for once- actually finding them!

Surgery one week from today! Bring it on. :-)

  3. Praying that the next cycle is "The" cycle. We tried IUIs, Clomid, inhectables, etc. Finally had an RE say he thought I had endometriosis and did a laparoscopy. (I was part of a study so had a second one just to "look around" 6 weeks later.) When I went for my 6 week follow up after the second look, we found out I was pregnant. He told us he sees it happen so often. It feels good to have a plan finally know some answers! Praying for you!

  4. I've tried Clomid, Femara, and two failed IUI attempts (one with injections, too).... Oddly, I showed no signs of possibly having some form of endometriosis until laparoscopy was performed. The result showed that I had stage 2 endometriosis (there are four stages: 1-2 is considered mild, 3-4 is severe). Although, my route took me to adoption and am focusing on that right now :) Your story inspires me and I hope things will work out for you! Wish you best of luck with your surgery!

    2. I tell ya, when another infertile gets pregnant, it's truly like winning one for the team. I've always felt my heart scream, "Yes, we can have babies! This heartache won't last forever! Ra ra sis boom ba!!" hahaha. ;)

  7. Third time is definitely not the charm. Third time is definitely not lucky. For the vast majority of women it might be. This is our 3rd year TTC after our second child died. (Our first and our second children are both in Heaven, we're still trying for a little brother or sister.)

  9. I'm so sorry to read of your failed IUD.
I was walking in your shoes approx 12 years ago. Back then, after a normal HSG and 3 failed IUIs, there was nothing more to be offered, beside IVF. (We then adopted from Russia 3 times!). But I am so excited for you that they have more to offer in terms of treatment and hope in this day and age. I also admire you for putting your journey on this blog, to help educate and inspire others. Wishing your many blessings!
